Homework

Home learning is a vital part of students’ learning process and must been seen as part of the normal school day. We support this through the Learning Resources Area, homework support and counselling, homework monitoring, task setting linked to achieving independent learning and courses on thinking and learning skills. 

All new students receive a booklet on good homework practice and study skills, and a homework timetable is published each year. Teachers set homework in at least two areas daily, and students are required to record the task and deadline for completion in their student planners.

There is a homework club after Academy hours for those who wish to attend. We ask parents to encourage their child to complete homework and to sign the student planner each week.
