Religious Education

We firmly believe that nurturing independence and providing the right support enables students to develop confidence and respect. With this in mind, we actively encourage our students to take responsibility for their own learning, recognising them as individuals with their own unique skills and talents.

We provide a strong ethos founded on Christian values and reflected in all school policies and practice.  The Academy staff includes a campus-based Chaplain whose role will be to embody the faith basis of the Academy’s ethos, to bring it and the parish closer together and to act as a bridge between the Academy and the community. 

The Academy has a religious character, with a distinctive Christian ethos, but is still an inclusive school, welcoming children from all faiths and none, serving the local community. 

Parents have the right to withdraw their child from assemblies of a religious nature.  The Academy will follow the Local Authority Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education (RE).
